Purple Queen cichlid??????

What is this cichlid at my LFS? Good LFS carries oddballs. Purple Queen is what is labeled....89.99 Resembles a red devil...sort of. 5-6"

That is what mine looked like when small when I picked him up. The colours tend to fade on them I think.
I bought mine as a Midas though but obviously not.

there called Rose Queens, there color is stable

In NYC they are called purple rose queens. I seen one about 4 inches, purple pinkish, but VERY vibrant. So, when I went to another fish shop, he had lots of fry labled PRQ, so we bought a few, lets see what they turn out.

well, we know they were crossed with various FH's, but their colors are so vibrant, that they almost look painted. So thats what I mean, by turn out. Also, they are not that expensive, petland had one for 49.99, really large, and so vibrant in color I was shocked to see a fish that bright. Now, I dont know how long they have been around, or what, or how they are graded. I jsut will wait and see how ours turn out.

Oh I never got it. But he has had 2 in this LFS for a while now. It really stands out among the others and is pretty much by itself. Been thinking about getting it though, but I think he wants like 69 or 79 for it.
