I think your situation is pretty much one half the breeding formula for the Red Texas Cichlid.
If you breed some of your best offspring with a Texas Cichlid then the process will be complete. From that union, most of the offspring will have brilliant blue pearling. Eventually a small percentage of the offspring will fade, resulting in red pearls with white edging. Those are big time "money fish". You might give it a try.
