i have decided to get a single purple spilo and have it in a 60 gallon long with a whole bunch of giant danios. i was just wondering if anybody has had any experience with them or any other usefull info.
Purple spilos are most likely going to be an S. Sanchezi. They are the smallest commonly available P. IMO they are also one of the most colorful and usually one of the most aggressive. Give him time to settle in and he should be fine for life in your 60.
You may also end up with an S. Maculatus because they often have a purple tint and so are called "purple spilo" at times. Macs are also very beautiful and mine is the most aggressive fish that I have owned. He will even take food from my hand before it hits the water! They max out around 8" and should also be fine in your 60 for a very long time.
HAHA I let go quick! Geting the pic of it was a different story as I had to hold on longer and he goes fast! Here are some pics of my beast. He is full grown at 8 inches and just rocks!
did you see my vid in the other post? im proud of my little guys(much smaller then yours). they are growin fast though. cant wait till they get bigger.
