I like the concept, but have never tried it. Anybody have any experience with this?

What is it? I've never heard of it.
Once you get some started in your tank, keep up your calcium levels..... it will take off like a weed.

Yes I use it and it is awsome for getting your coraline algae to take off. A capful per 50 gals a day and my bleached base rock was purple within 2 weeks and my other rock looks great. I will always use it.

Yes I have, that is one of many I have tried and still use, the best part is that even though it is named "Purple up", I have seen mass increases in not only my purple coralline, but also pinks, orange, greens, and deep red encrusting algae. It works pretty well, but once you get it going, just making sure that your params are top notch with high calcium and good levels of Strontium and Molybdenum, and they should spread like crazy.

I keep the calcium up and add a trace element product. I will add the Strontium and Molybdenum Supplement to my list to buy tomorrow. What about Magnesium?

It doesnt contain any corraline just crushed coral and aragonite so it just helps everything that uses calcium to grow. Its also good for tube and christmas tree worms ect.

It is just a concentrated calcium supp. If your calcium and Alk is balanced then you will have no problems with coraline or coral growth. Just buy a quality calcium test kit and Alk test kit and you should be ok. Here is a reef chem calculator to help you.

I will get the Calcium test kit, any suggestions on brand?

either seachem or salifert. Get both calcium and alkalinity. They have to balance to work properly.

i like seachem for my testing stuff. they always seem to come through.
