So I'm shoulder deep in my Tanganyikan tank adding some rocks for territory, when I hear a knock. Maintenance man.. Problem? No, he mentioned he was over few days ago to fix our faucet and saw our tanks. Then said he's got one that he's tired of trying to keep clean.. Catch 22? I think not after checking it out and he is GIVING it to me, yessssss!.
:headbang2

Take a look at what it looked like at his house.. :screwy:

This is after I brought it home, cleaned it up, changed light bulb and put a couple more fish in it :grinno:

This thing nearly came with it all.. Two air pumps, 4 types of food, decor, heater, filter, stand and hood. It was missing the lid hatch, but I custom made one out of a plastic bin lid from walmart and used a drawer handle for it.. here is a shot..

SCORE!

Yesterday I bought two Gouramis for this setup (Gold and Opaline). Wife fell in love with the Gold one. Never realized how cool they can be. Also meant to buy 3 rainbow fish from Petsmart (90 cents ea). Instead the employee netted one rainbow and two Golden Wonder Killifish. Usually I'm AR about what fish I'm getting. I'll make them chase the exact fish I want most times. But they (rainbows in the tank) all looked the same.. so I browsed other tanks while they scooped. When I got home I realized what happened.. I threw the one rainbow in the 125 and the killies here. Later realized the Killies are priced @ $2.99ea and my three "Rainbows" totaled out @ $2.89.. Crazy luck. :)

Do Killifish always stay at the top?

Very nice job on tank new look.. nice small additions too.

TY, the guy that gave it to me said he couldn't keep it clean. But I know why.... :screwy: Cause it was too close to the window which was always open. Kinda hard to fight the filth like that..
Yes I have it next to the window but.. I used the correplast material they use for political campaign signs and the like, cut it out to fit the window.. so no algae blooms :woot:
