Putting a box over a blower

I have a question regarding a blower, I have to stick with using one as I need that much air but the noise is too much now that I have hearing aids LOL
Can I build a box out of plywood and foam board to put around it to help contain the noise? and Just have the filter come out the top?

The problem can be the heat. Try it with a card board box and see it it gets too hot before making a wooden box. Also add like a big course sponge bigger than the air pump underneath to dampen the noise.
