  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i got a new 60g tank that ive never got around setting up. im moving and may not be able to set it up after 4 years.
putting it in storage a good idea??

All I can say is BUBBLE WRAP! Lots of bubble wrap and use blankets to wrap it. Just make sure you use lots of bubble wrap.

I had a 55 that sat in a garage without heat or ac for 3 or 4 years and never had a problem in the 5 years I had it running.

Should be fine, I've had tanks outside in FL and it doesnt seem to bother them too much, maybe speeds the need to reseal but not too bad. With a filled tank obviously its no problem but even unfilled you should be fine for a while. Especially with a new tank, if its close to needing reseal then it may push it over the edge.

its a bad bad idea just give it to me so i can use it as a sump lol

Like Andrew said, "'protect your tank!" And make sure you label the big square sitting there. My brother went into my basement where I had a tank wrapped up for storage, and not knowing what it was he wasn't being to careful around it and broke one of the panels of glass. Talk about a pain. Make sure you give it a good cleaning and dry it really well before you put it away as having to give it a really good cleaning when you are thinking about setting it up again may deter you if you are tight on time. Good luck and hope you get it back up sooner than 4 years!
