Putting a Pleco in my RBP Tank

Hello i have one RBP and i was wondering if i could put a pleco in there and what size should the pleco be if i can. My RBP is about 6-7 inches long.

i have heard of this done but never seen it so if u really wanted to u could try as long as when he is introduced the P is feed and u do some remodeling of the tank and the pleco is larger then the RBP he might leave him alone

if u try this be prepared to loss the pleco thou so it might be best to not do it but if u do let us know how it works i have wondered about doing this myself

Yeah thanks for the info i think im gonna go to my LFS tommorow and pick one up and see what happends

I had a shoal and they were fine with the pleco (exc)........
I also had a different shoal and they ate every pleco I put in the tank .
So in your case make sher your Piranha is smaller then the pleco and add
pleco during water change . Let us know to further our education .
7 to 3 it lives with a single specimen .

ill say those odds are about right also what size tank do u have it doesn't say ??? this could also be a factor b/c the pleco won't ahve anywhere to get away from the P if needed if its a small tank ? also what size pleco u looking at i know around me any LFS has from 2" to 16" plecos about anytime i walk in there

Why would you want to put a fish in with something that is likely to kill or maim it? If its for cleaning up the tank, do it yourself thats part of the hobby!

Its about a 40-45 g tank

whats the LxWxD on that tank i can't imagine its very big and with that RBP as long as u say u would have to get like a 10" pleco so it is definitly bigger

Also make sher to have hiding places .. 40 gal is a little tight for a 10" pleco
