Putting gar together

Hi I was wondering if I put a 13' gar with a 5' gar would the bigger one bite the smaller one?

I read somewhere that a gar will only eat what it can swallow whole so I think the 5" one would be too big to eat. I'd wait for someone more experienced in gars to comment though before you do anything. What type of gars are you keeping?

The 13' is an alligator gar and the 5' is an spotted gar
