Im thinking about switching my fx5 to run off a dual overflow box setup and was wondering if it would be plausible to put my aquarium heater in one of the boxes. running a Aquatop TH-C100 Titanium heater only issue im having is my knife likes to attack suction cups and keep knocking the heater off the back wall. Going to be using two of these retrofit style overflow boxes that are 18.5 x 4.25 x 5.25" so plenty of room, just dont know if it would work to have the heater sitting in the box heating the water as it is pulled past it into the intake line. the filter intake will be a normal tube coming in from the top of the tank, it will just draw from inside the overflow instead of a strainer style intake because my tanks bottom is covered in leaf litter that keeps clogging the strainer.
