Hello i was wondering how i should put my piranha in my new tank the water is around the same tempature and i already put the thing that takes the chlorine out.

what do u mean by how do u want to know if its cool to just net them or are u asking about "floating" to get them aclimated ?

siphon some water out of his current tank into a big bucket and then you can net your fish and put him in there. to get him acclimated correctly, take a small section of airline tubing (five feet or so) and start a siphon from the new tank into the bucket. you can use a clip to slow the waterflow so that it is at a slow stream or a fast drip, it's up to you. after the bucket is filled with more water from the new tank than from the old tank, you should be able to dump the water into the new tank til it's full and then net your fish and put him in there. i know it seems like a bit of work, but i do this everytime i move fish from one tank to another and when adding new fish that i have just purchased (except i don't dump the bucket water into the tank with new fish) and i have never had a problem with fish going into shock.

no problem man, i do expect to see some pics of him in his new tank once he's all settled in tho, haha

I have just moved my 4" mac and 3.5" rhom into a 180 us gal tank sectioned off across the middle. I used an old plastic ice cream container 10"x6"x8". Cornered them, they just swam in, then put the lid on. Floated the container to acclimatise, let them out, they didn't even know they had been moved. By the way, they were in separate tanks before I moved them. No signs of stress, and I still have complete nets!
