I built a new CO2 diffuser out of PVC and cemented the fittings together. The can says it cures in 2 hours; 24 hours later it still stinks. Should I run water through it for a while?

Takes a couple of hours to fully cure, but I don't think I wait that long. I think I gave my PVC about 45 minutes before firing up the pump.

Well, I forgot to drill a hole for the air tube before I glued it together, and it needs to be pulled through with pliers, so I'm going to have to cut it in half, do that, and glue it back together with a coupling.

Oh well.

i dont think ive ever "waited" for pvc glue to cure... this goes for overflows as well as pump lines...

For low pressure applications (such as an overflow drain), you can run water through it in as little as 2 minutes. For medium to high pressure applications (running a pump with head pressure), it is best to wait a minimum of 2 hours for the bond to be fully inseparable.

A smell will linger for quite a while after the bond is set. It shouldn't have any effect other than odor though.
