PVC cement curing question

I have cemented the pvc for my sump for my 65g. It says 2 hour cure time. Wondered if that was really a good time frame or should I let them cure for longer. It's been about 3 hours now.

It has been a long time since I set one up and we had all the fitting cemented days before installation so I never was worried about it. Would like to get the filter running tonight if I can.

I WOULD WAIT 24 HOURS TO BE SAFE. RUN WATER THROUGH IT IN THE TUB BEFORE YOU USE IT AND YOU WILL BE GOOD TO GO

I've had a few cases where I couldn't wait 24hrs. I let the glue set for about 30 minutes and turned on the pumps, even with fish in the tank. Fish were always fine.

Maybe will just go for it and see what happens. It's only one fish if it turns ugly. Probably run it in the tub too just in case. I like your warning btw.

Well all is good. Just had to hook it up and set a max fill line. She's still ok.
