I have started a 550gallon build, and i am wondering wich one to pick, pvc is alot easyer to get a hand on, dont have to order it. The pond is for my stingrays, so what i am worried about is them to make a hole in it with their tale. Personaly i dont think they will make a hole in neither of them, but i dont know.

go with epdm. pvc is definitely cheaper but not worth the trouble in my opinion. I see youre from norway. Id definitely be worried about pvc in an outdoor setting. pvc tends to become hard/brittle over time. At least thats the problem I had for my 500gal indoor pond, built very much the same way.

Nice project. I have not kept rays in a pond, but everything that I have read suggests double liners. I think either material would work, but being indoors, the security of two liners seems like a good idea

Now i have ordered EPDM, seems like the world agree on that epdm is the best choice..I will keep this threed posted as long as i work on it, i wont get to start finish it before a couple of weeks. As this is ment as a quick solution of transfering alot of big fishes and aquarium in an easy way insted of rushing it all together in 1 day.I will use the filtration i have on my 2x180 gallon tanks in the start, 2xfx5, 1xeheim 2260 and 1x2080. Should be plenty for this sized pond, over time il probably build a sump.I will use the 2260 to pump water out of the tank when i change water.
