pvc or hose for return pipe

which would be better to use for return fromsump? pvc or hose? my other tanks all use pvc is there any benefit using hose? also please pose return pipe pics my previous ones dont look good

No pictures here but with hose it woud be easier to run and you woud have less pressure lost due to friction.
