I need some input on these ?estions.
i got my sump running now which is a 5 gal bucket in a 15 gal sump which is running my 75 gal tank. i have a diy skimmer box made with 2 specimen containers. I have 2 1.25" pvc pipe for my drain to my sump.I just constructed an overflow from chompers overflow 101. now my questions r, is it ok to connect the new overflow to the existing overflow box to have them both cleaning tank? or is that too much flow.? And which is better to use, the diy overflow skimmer box or the diy overflow made with pvc pipe if i only need to use one of the 2.
Please respond...:feedback: anybody but a dead body. Lol

I'd use the specimen box overflow if it is the one I am thinking about. Are you using a clear U tube? If so, that would be my first choice. If you don't mind spending the 20 bucks for an aqualifter, the pvc is a good second (I am becoming lazy and don't like purging them all the time).

The flow rate is determined by the pump. Having two overflows will just divide the flow from the pump between the two overflows.
