I just perfected my sump but I am noticing my "all PVC" overflow making the noise equivalent to a HOB filter over a tank with a low water line. It's not the intake, It's more of the pipe itself with water splashing through. I was thinking of putting some kind of insulation on it to buffer the noise. Would this work? If so what is there to use?

I dont know what its called but w/e that black wrap around insulation duct workers use and some plumbers do as well seems like it would work. If the end of the overflow is open that may also be ptting out alot of noise, kinda like a horn or echo chamber. If you can find a way to enclose the end and leave a slit for the water to flow in this may also cut down on the noise significantly

I'm going to do the same thing. I was thinking about some foam rubber or something similar wrapped around to dampen the noise.

yea i think thats what most of the plumbers use.. I work construction and we use fiberglass insulation to dampen noise. I know that stuffs messy but its fairly cheap. Wrapthat around and then cover it with heavy plastic lining should work very nicely
