PVC Overflow paint.

If I build one of these can I paint the part that goes in the tank so it dose not look so ugly? if so what kind of paint/precautions/procedures should I go through to ensure that my livestock will not be harmed?

I understand Krylon Fushion is safe.

With a caveat. Krylon Fusion is safe after about a week. It needs to fully bond to the plastic.

I was checking out Krylon Fusion for use on plastic and after I finished reading the back of the can with all the fine print, I was not aware of this one week waiting period. Is this self gained knowledge from experience? I am going to be doing basically the same thing as the OP. It's good to know. But is it really necessary to have this time for bonding with the paint and the PVC piping? Just curious.

My Over flow project pooped out on me b/c I built it wrong but I'm re-building it and painting it this time, gonna let it bake in the texas sun all day soak in water all night and call it a done deal.

Personal experience from a different hobby/application. I've found it to remain brittle for a few days after application, but very durable after leaving it for a few days.
