If I made a 1.5" overflow, and placed 1.25" reducing strainers both at the intake/opening, and the output, would it have similar performance to a 1.25" overflow?
Are there any issues that might arise from this? Such as the intake taking in less water than the rest of the pipe, thus allowing more air and eventually losing the siphon? Or does this have the same effect?
Main reason I'm asking is because 1.5" PVC over here is significantly cheaper than 1.25" or 1" pipes/elbows.
