I am about to go build a 1" PVC overflow this weekend and I was thinking about connecting vinyl tubing to the end of the tee instead of hardplumbing the entire thing. Seeing as I have a mag drive pump rated at 200 gph at 4' head, I assumed that I will need a ball valve. Do they sell slip x barbed ball valves or should I just buy a slip x slip and get a slip x barbed insert and stick it on? Would I need to glue the ball valve (and potentially the insert) on? And because this is my first time using Vinyl tubing, do I glue them on or just stick them in?

what i do is go to the hardware store and play with the parts until i find what i need. I just have to remember where the parts i dont buy came from.

theres a bazillion ways to do it.. best thing really is to just poke around the hardware store till you find what you like

If you are certain you want a ball valve, with vinyl hose. Get a threaded ball valve and some hose barbs that are threaded on one end and hose barbs on the other...
