Ok a think I know what im sort of doing with sumps now except a basic question. This is for a overflow sump. If you have a pump pushing 450 gallons of water back to. Your tank what size pipe would you need ? Because if your pipe is not suking 450 gallons back down to the pump the whole tank would over flow? Because theres to much water entering the tank and not enough going out the tank?. Thankyou!!

usually you would run a 3/4" from the return pump back into the tank. Unless you have a huge tank and pumps then you would have to go bigger. What type of overflow setup are you using? Hang on back, or built in? If I'm not mistaken, 1" hose will only drain about 600gph.

Im wanting to go with a hang on, I will ask the question straight it will get to point, what size pipe would I need for a 500 gallon tank with 10x turnover, im still not sure on the built in ones on how they work if there is a link I could get would be great incase the built in one is a better opption. Thanks again for your input I really need it.
