So I am taking out all of the vinyl tubing on my 600 gallon and hard lining the whole system. My problem is that the plumber that is helping me do this says that his glue for the pvc takes a while to set and then needs to be flushed to insure there is no contaminents left in the pvc. So this will definately not work. So I told him that I would ask if you guys knew or have used any other quick setting aquarium safe glue I can use to seel the pvc.

Sorry I don't know if there is is and Aquarium save glue, but if you use the PVC glue U should flush it.
You can build it in small pieces and use some of these (see pic) I don't know what they are called in English.
So build it in Small pieces flush them in the bad tub and then screw it together under your tank.
For me it was hell getting the tankconnector air tight.
I also hooked up my canister to PVC.
Looking at all the money I spend on PVC I would have done it different.

I use general purpose PVC cement and run it 1 hour later quite frequently. I've never had a problem doing it, not even with rays or other sensitive fish

:iagree: i do that all the time

I use "Red hot blue glue" from HD. Mostly just because it is easier to see that you have good coverage, to avoid leaks.

Those are called PVC unions here. Very handy, and very good to have in line incase you need to break the system down, but still want to use it.

Ok, I just wanted to make sure... the plumber was very nervous because he said he thought that it was toxic, primarily based on the smell. So all it needs is one hour to set??? Because I have this tank up and running with a heavy load of fish and dont want it to be off for to long.

PVC cement smells nasty because it's loaded with highly volatile chemicals/solvents so it can do it's job of chemically wielding the join together, because they're highly volatile they evaporate/are used up quickly (which is why you have little time to set the joins after applying the cement), think of it as a very short halflife.

Using the bare minimum of cement will also help, since that will ensure that the majority of the cement is reacted with the PVC leaving little left over to evaporate.
