pvc safe for underwater use?

does anyone know if pvc piping is ok just to put in a tank with fish? does it sink? thanks

PVC pipes do sink and are safe for use. You can use PVC pipe cement to glue them together if you're setting up filtration systems or caves for the fish to hide.
 
yeah its for a knifefish of mine, hes short on his usual hiding spot and doesnt really like it quite as much, so was gonna go get a pvc tube to help him hide
 
If you use pvc cement, make sure it sets for a day or two so that it can off gas. It isn't fish safe until you can no longer smell the fumes from the glue.

no, this fish likes complete darkness, its not a BGK. it would normally hide inside one of my ornaments and only come out at night of when it senses food.
