Ok which is a better liner for my indoor pond. Ive heard that the PVC breaks down outdoors but it will be in my basement so that's not a problem. The PVC liner is 1/2 the price as the EPDM one so that's a plus. What is every bodies stance on PVC for indoor use?

Im putting a pvc liner in my garage pond tomorrow. Ive tallked to some people and was told I would get at least 2 years from it outside so I expect four inside. I got a cheap 10x10 20 mil one(suprisingly thick) for like 26 bucks plus shipping from amazon. Came in like 4-5 days. They also have a 10x15. And epdm 10x10 for 63 bucks

I used a 10x12 PVC 20mil liner for my bog filter outside. Considering that its mostly full of gravel, then filled with plants, and has wood trim covering the top and edges, there's very little that's exposed to sunlight.

We do get very cold winters here, down into single digits every winter, and below freezing for several weeks to months at a time. The liner has been out there for over a year now, and is still just as good as new.

I think for indoor use, you could use one of the pvc ones and be just fine. Or, you could double up two of the 20mil pvc liners, and it would still probably be cheaper than a 45mil epdm liner.

PVC will be fine indoors....

I'm with Conner, depending on stock (large cats in perticlar) I would double up on the 20 mil. PVC for a little piece of mind.

I highly doubt cats would put a hole in it really they use their spins for defense. Anyway I bought a EPDM liner. 20x15 40mil with a life time warranty for 170 shipped. $70 more than a pvc one but $70 is worth it for the piece of mind. Don't wanna go downstairs and find the whole basement full of water

Yeah but look on the bright side, if the basement flooded, youd have an even bigger pond. At least you dont have anything to worry about now. I just filled my garage pond and it has a pvc 20mil liner. Hope it all goes well. Good Luck
