What do you guys use to seal your pvc together? I have some silicone here and was thinking about using that but the guy at home depot said it would be to thick. But he couldn't offer any suggestions on what would be aquarium safe. He said "They're all AQUARIUM safe, I don't know about FISH safe though, hahaha!"

I would guess the normal two part PVC cement would be safe. Purple primer then the cement.

The cement is as thick as silicone, so you should be able to use the silicone as well. Use the GE Type I.

do you not have normal pvc cement over here its nice and thin and once set flush the pipes and it should be fine

general purpose PVC cement is fine. A good rule of thumb is that it'll be ok as long as it's safe for potable water.

Thanks all! I'm off again on Monday so I'll run and get some then. I appreciated the replies.

use the clear unless you hide your pipes

fyi you can sand the "purple drippy lookin stuff" off pretty quick and easy... or just leave it if your lazy like me...

and you can use silicone as well.. however thats more of a "at your own risk" sorta thing... unless its made for underwater use it gets a bit soft after a while..
