i saw that aquascape carries these, but is out for the year. my questions are these:
are they as easy to breed as red bellies?
can they be kept with red bellies?
does anyone on mfk sell them? - if they breed them
how big do they get?

anyone that currently has these, please post pics.

all pygocentrus can be kept together.
breeding should be similar to reds but I haven't heard of anyone breeding terns, maybe just similar to caribes and pirayas that it's difficult to trigger them to breed.
haven't seen babies on sale for a long time, Shark Aquarium has some large ones, around 8" or bigger I think.

ya breeding is very rare if it actually has been done. Don't know why though, seems like it would be similar to natts. you can keep them with reds and cariba and probably piraya. Piraya tend to get nasty after a while though

Yellow belly pygos can get bigger than rbp. There was some for sale on P-cove.motorcity breeders I believe.they have been bred but very few have done it. Ternetzi don't exsist anymore the names obsolete

Well looks like they closed the thread where i promised i'd get pics of the ternetzis in portland. Got them, should be able to post them as soon as they're e-mailed to me. Probably tomorrow.

^awesome! can't wait to see them. heres another question. today 2 of my 3 rbps turned black and started fighting. they are now separated by an eggcrate wall. i am assuming they are getting ready to breed, and the to black are male and the bright red bellied one is female. so i found the loser male(he got the worst and would have lost had i not separated them) another home(pending) but when he goes, would other p be able to live with the 2 remaining if they are a breeding pair?

Piranha are illegal in Va - just fyi. However, you can certainly drive to Md or DC with little effort. Doubtful that any legit vendors would put their business at risk to send piranha to an illegal state.

Yeah Va sucks where laws are concerned. my piranha address is in West Virginia though. Thanks for the heads up though. its funny that Va made them illegal because they found p's swimming in a river that runs through Va Wv and Md. like they knew it was virginians that did it, or that it would stop people......ha...i think there are more items owned illegally in states that make them illegal than states that just make them legal. that last sentence sounds stupid, but i dont know how to revise it...

I'm not sure that they were found in a river around here (I don't think they have)... If you're talking about the Potomac, I think you mean snakeheads (Chann sp.).
