python affecting faucet?

When I'm using my python my faucet leaks and now the faucet is starting to leak whenever I use it. I've rebuilt the faucet a couple of times and it helps for a while. This is the only faucet I've used a python on and was wondering if this is common, I don't want to replace the faucet if I'm gonna have the same problems with a new faucet.

That is a good question. My faucet leaks too when using my water changer. I assumed the faucet was just getting bad, but I guess maybe it's the back pressure from using it causing the leak. You think a good faucet wouldn't leak unless there was a tremendous amount of pressure causing it to. I'm going to go ahead and change mine and see what happens. Although it'll probably be next month. For now I just put towels down to soak up the water.

I don't use a Python but it should not cause any leaks. Faucets are made to handle the pressure of municipal water. Most new houses have a pressure regulator to reduce the water pressure so it does not damage the seals of the valves and faucets. In areas such as in the hills, they use a booster pump to increase water pressure so they can service all of the homes with decent pressure. Those areas will have higher than normal water pressure. The fixtures may eventually leak but not blow up and cause any major problem. I believe it is the faucet that is getting old that is causing the problem. If you do change it out, go with a well known brand such as Delta or Moen. Certain brands have a lifetime warranty. Good Luck.

Where does the faucet leak from - the aerator, spout or handles?

The faucet is the standard single handle delta and is leaking from the stainless cap that goes over the valve(right were the o-ring is). This is the third or fourth time I've had this problem and everytime I rebuild the faucet it only fixes for a couple of months. I went pass a supply house and picked up a new rebuild kit and installed it, if it leaks again before spring I'm going to assume that there is pitting in the metal that is preventing it from making a good seal and replace the faucet.

problem is probably the faucet itself. I have been using a python on our kitchen faucet for about 5 years. no leaks.

I've never had that problem before, or even heard of it, but the faucet I use is a two handle model. I wonder if that makes any difference? The only leaking I ever get is from the aqueon adapter itself.
