How do these hoses work? Do they do anything other than connect to your faucet and take water to your tank like a garden hose could? Do they also drain water from your tank into your sink somehow?

Right now I just use a garden hose to refill, and a siphon and bucket to empty water.

You hook it to your faucet and when you turn the faucet on the suction it creates removes the water from your tank then when you turn the dial it fills the tank for you. I use to have one but none of the faucets are compatible with the hose connections. I use an old syphon hose and a bucket to empty mine then depending on the tank I either refill with the bucket or with the hose after letting the water run for a bit.

You turn a valve on the attachment and it will siphon the water out of the tank with the force of the water running in the faucet in addition to filling the tank.

My tank is set up right next to a window so I just siphon my dirty water out the window and let it water the grass. All I use the python for anymore is to just fill 'er up again.

I let my python drain directly into my sump pit in the basement. I connect it to the faucet for filling. This saves on water but it is rather slow.

I've always disliked the concept of having to waste clean water in order to rid dirty water. Most people have their tanks higher than the height of a toilet, tub, or window, so utilize the force of gravity to drain those tanks through those options. I have 1 tank that sits about 4" above the floor, so for that tank I just use a cheap water pump (and hose) to drain the the tank straight into the toilet.

I used a python for a while but it has turned into random plumbing projects as they are really not useful for larger tanks. I use a garden hose to drain and I bought one of those pocket hoses for filling. I absolutely love the pocket hose. A trip to home Depot to make an adapter for my bathroom sink and I'm doing wc's on my 180,55,20 and 29 in an hour n a half or so. I water my house plants with tank water them drain the rest into my driveway.

Hate that, probably am going to look into draining it another way and using the python just to fill.

I use the python to drain and fill and dont waste clean water I just drain both tanks into the toilet....I cant see wasting all thst clean water

I use a python to drain and fill, but I only use the clean water while I'm vacuuming for the extra suction, then just let it drain before turning the water back on to fill the tank.

If your doing wc bucket by bucket the Python will change your life...lol. Buckets are ok when your doing smaller tanks but when it comes to bigger tanks it's well worth the money to buy a Python or a similar product. Aqueon also makes one but it didn't have great reviews and the same price for the Python. Petco had them on sale online only. Picked up a 50' one for $60.
