Just wondering if anyone knows where i can source a python system here in Aus, ive looked around but all i can find them are in the US.

What do people think of them and do they work a treat? i have a bare bottom tank so im using mainly for water changes only not cleaning.

Thanks

I don't know where they are in Australia, but they are everywhere here in the U.S.A.. They work great. There's no way I could do 100 gallon waterchanges with buckets.

You could always try and make your own if you can't find one where you are and to have one shipped would be cost prohibitive. Check this out...

You could omit the gravel cleaner part since your tank is bare bottom. Some advice I can give you if you make your own is to use brass fittings instead of plastic for attaching to the faucet. The plastic connectors rearely last more than a couple of water changes.

Good luck.:)

How big is you tank? Python is kind slow for water changing. There are many ways to do water change rather than "buckets", or python.....

Lots of folks use powerhead method, which way faster than python for big tank water change.

the tank is about 500L, dont know what that is in gallons

didnt think of using the powerhead, ive got a spare one lying around, hook the hoses up, plug it in, then do it at the other end.

thats how im picturing it?

500L is about 125 Gallons I believe, 4x2x2 I presume.

I've seen them in a couple of the larger specialist stores in Brisbane, I'd ring around all of the major aquariums in your area and see if any stock them. Not sure of any online stockists, none of my usual ones (Guppys, ReefShop, AoA) stock them.
