Python suction ratio

Python claims that it has a 7:1 suction ratio on their web site. So it only takes 1 gallon of tap water to drain 7 gallons from your aquarium. I think that it takes more water than that to drain. What do you think?
 
Thats probably what the venturi pump will do right at the connection. When you factor in whether you are sucking up hill (tank is lower than connection) and the length of hose, this would change the value drastically.

When I clean my tanks on the bottom of the metal stands (about 3" off the floor) and have to suck up to sink level through a 35' Python, seems like the ratio may be 7 gal tap water to 1 gal aquarium water lol...
