I have a 50gl feeder/grow out tank with a powerhead and a RenaX3.

I want to add the RenaX3 to my 300 for more filteration but will just a powerhead effect the Orino? Growth or anything at all??

I do weekly H20 changes of 80%... I do the water change the day after I introduce new feeders, then hit it with more salt.

Orino is about 4-5" and I keep 4-5dz 2-3" Comets a week at a time. I use it as a q-tank to feed my Armatus. I think the Orino will be in the 50gl till probly late December.

Here is an old pic except the exact same set up . Same 2 plans too:ROFL:

Okay let me rephrase this....

Can I keep my Orino in a 50gl for a few months with just a powerhead and air??

Keep up with the water changes....Try investing in an AC101 within the next month....

As long as you keep the Temp at/or around 85 to 89 degrees, and keep with the water change. you'll be good.

Being a bare tank, I would think that most of the bio-bacteria in the tank is housed in that filter. So if you remove it then you now what will happen. And exspecially having 5 dozen comets in that tank with no bio filtration i would expect ammonia to get out of hand quickly. ------------------------Having a feeder tank is something you and I for that matter will have to deal with until we decide to get rid of current stock. So i would just buy another canister for the 300. That way you are not losing the stability in the feeder tank.
