I just made a DIY spray bar (about 1foot). And I'm wondering how many holes I should drill for a 1200 G/hr pump output? I currently have 9 3/16" holes drilled. I worry that if my output flow is restricted from the spray bar, it might damage my pump.

Please advise. Thx!:nilly:

How long is the spray bar? I would add an extra hole at a time and try it.

Thanks.
I just expanded all the holes another 2 sizes for peace of mind. Now one of the holes sprays out little to no water, but I guess that's better than too little.

If the holes are too big you could screw in the jets from a garden trickle system, and drill them to suit. Something else to think about, I've always made the holes closest to the water source a bit smaller than the outermost holes, for a more even and consistant flow.
