Q: Female FH about to lay eggs

My female FH is about to lay eggs. Unfortunately, i dont have a male,

can i just buy a Male FH and put him in the tank with a tank fence inside?

You could, but I think you;d have to wait for the pair to bond first before the spawned.

what is the usual time for them to get along?

3 Days/3 Months, who knows. If you added a mature male into the tank, not much bigger then the female, if not smaller, you might have a good pair.
The current eggs will go stale and die. After the pair come into contact, it should take them anywhere from a week to a month to spawn. Keep a divider handy.
