I am setting up a QT tank and was wondering if it is better to not have any substrate? Opinions appreciated.
Thanks!

I never use substrates in my different size Q tanks. Makes it easier to check for parasites in the fish's waste. Timid or light-sensitive species get clay pots for cover since I can boil the pots for the next fish.

That and its just a lot easier to sut up a q tank with no substrate. easier to clean too.
