quads?

lookin to get back into the sport, couple questions-
1. where can i look for small childrens(boy is 2, prob not start for a year or 2) starter quads? see alot of them no-names around but am worried bout reliability, but price is also a factor
2. i love 2 strokes, but could deal with a thumper and my old bones might like reverse. what quads would i be looking at for 2-3 grand used? 250r? 250x? dont need anything like a zilla or banshee, just something to put around on with the family, but still fun and mod-able later on.

best first quad (imo) is honda trx300ex. It is 4 stroke, can go slow, but still light, quick, and fun to throw around

Oh yea, kids....Honestly, I wouldn't even put them on a quad until they are older. Quads give kids a false sense of security. I would throw them on a bike instead. I was on a kawasaki 80 dirt bike when I was 6, didnt get a quad till I was 14.
