Quality of red-spot severum?

So I got this red-spotted severum from my LFS about two weeks ago. He was one of the most colorful ones in the tank, and currently he gets along well with my red-shoulder severum and the firemouth that he's in a tank with. My question is, how good of a quality is he? I paid 16.99 for him...is that expensive? Good price? Sorry for the crappy picture quality. Camera is down so I had to use my phone.

$17 is a great price, here in the UK I purchased one just this friday gone at £19, which is reasonable..can't tell the quality due to the blurriness of the pic, but asking around here, i got the indication they'll colour up as they get older

He's only about an inch and a half right now, so still a juvenile. He's got a pretty bright orange belly. I'm hoping he'll color up even more with time. The LFS I went to typically has really good quality fish.
