Hey guys, I'm looking for a quality UV Sterilizer for my 125g tank. I've been eyeing the Coralife Turbo twist 3x. Its a 9watt bulb, and it says its good for tanks up to 125g.

I would like to know if anyone has any feedback on this particular Sterilizer, or if anyone has one that they have been impressed with.

Thanks for the input.

coralife turbo twist i am using for 2 months and damn i love it. 3 months ago i got columnaris and it killed all my fish , after that i got uv sterilizer and since then no problems with no alage or fish sickness ;)

Also am curious about what UV is good! Thinking about the turbotwist.
most of people will tell you that turbotwist is the best although there are couple other worth

9W isn't enough for a 125. I have a 9W on my 10 gal planted tank, 25W on my 75 gal, and 57W on my 125.

Stay away from UV sterilizers that don't let you use the entire volume of the housing. You just end up irradiating less volume of water per unit time and irradiate some air instead.

AquaUltraviolet and Emperor Aquatics are the good ones.

Thanks for the input. Does it matter at all that my tanks are not heavily planted? I am only using the Sterilizer to eliminate additional bacteria to make my water a bit clearer and help reduce possible secondary infections.

Has it made your water any clearer?

Here's some more positive feedback about their use, and a simple and effective formula for determining the needed wattage in this link (post).

I've also been actively looking and reading reviews about specific brands, and I am also leaning towards the Turbo Twist as well. Most reviews seem happy with the product, results, and durability of this particular brand.
