quality vendors ?

I live in santa cruz california, and i am really interested in purchasing fish online. i haven't done it before so i am a little skeptical, but i see a lot of people purchasing fish online so it has to be legit. i'm wondering if there are any "top notch" vendors i should be looking at, and more specifically. are there any that are relatively close to me (west coast)?
