How long do all of you quarantine rosies for before feeding them.

I was thinking a couple days and some flake food and they should be good to go. Do any of you use meds in your feeder tank?

I am just trying to make the feeders as safe as reasonably possible for my ATF any advice is appreciated

at least two weeks,
but what you do is get about twice as many as you need, put them in two dif tanks, and feed from one tank/restock, feed from the other/restock
so you have a continuaous stream of feeders every week, instead of every two weeks.

I go three weeks in a seperate little 5 gallon tank wth salt.

Its not worth it to me if my fish get sick from a 10 cent feeder. lol

I know this is not good practice, but when I feed feeder fish, I just buy, and feed. (It might or might not make a difference that I do not have any feeders lounge around)

But, after reading that story about a feeder with white bumps under the operculi, I decided to do away with feeder fish altogether.
My poor Gold Tulip Eels are stuck with only earthworms now.

There is NO excuse not to QT feeders for at least 2 weeks you can use anything that holds water 5 gallon bucket with a sponge filter will work
remember its easier and cheaper to prevent disease than it is to try to fix the damage done-Anne

I always QTed my feeders for two weeks. I had them in a 30gl with a fluval 404. I kept the temp at 85*F with lots of airation. I always added salt and did a treatment with prazi pro on each batch.

I don't buy feeders, my convicts provide me with more than enough. If I did I would run the tank at 86 degrees and add 1 tablespoon salt to each 5 gallons water and do 2 50% water changes weekly. If you are pulling feeders on a daily bases though it would be hard to effectively quarentine them with using just one tank.

The ATF will eat non live food so It would not be completely unreasonable for him to go up to a week without feeders

I think I may just QT for 1 week I know it is not ideal but it is better than straight from the bag and a third tank is not an option as I am currently setting up a 180 gallon upgrade for the ATF.

And my Wife would shoot me and then the fish would starve

The tank is already running pretty hot 85ish and has salt in it. Also has some convict fry from a failed attempt at breeding feeders :(

what's and ATF?
if it's really small (and i know this isn't an option but a 10 gal under the stand would suffice, for the future) BREED guppies, theres nothing safer and there'll always be a lot of em.
