Quarantine/hospital tank question.

I'm just curious, For hospital tank or quarantine tank, do you keep it cycled?
I have some bichirs in quarantine, but the tank has only been setup to quarantine them, I tested andit had ammonia reading. I'm just curious if you guys have a quarantine tank running whole year round?

If I had one, I'd have it running all the time. No point having a quarantine tank if by the time its up and running, your fish has died lol
