I currently have a small motorro female. She is doing great, eating , happy, everything is great. I am picking up a pair of hobbyist owned rays this week.

I have been quarantining all my livestock. Do you think I could put these rays together? Or is that just a bad idea. Again, they've been owned by an individual for more than a year. One is captive born the other is wild caught. I think they have been treated previously. they are eating etc. etc.

Thx for the insight.

You would be taking a risk by not quarantining the rays. If you have a tank big enough to qt them then do it, it may save you alot of headache later on. Yes they are healthy but they can still bring a parasite into your tank or your tank could have a parasite that they can pick up from your tank

I would ask the previous owner if quarantine is needed. Has the owner recently added any new stock? Does the owner use feeders? How well do you trust the seller? etc.

Gr8KarmaSF Gr8KarmaSF thanks. The previous owner said he quarantines everything. He has not had any new stock, but he does use feeders for the other fish in the tank.

I guess I will quarantine as I usually do. Thanks everyone. I guess I knew the answer....:)
