What would be an ideal quarantine tank in your personal opinion and experience?

Nice! I just got a 10g right now but I was thinking I would use less meds with a smaller tank and the treatment would be more concentrated. I was looking at a 40 gal. breeder would that also be good enough?

Yes. As for meds, keep them away. You don't have to treat while quarantining new fish. Keep it simple. Barebottom is better than using substrate. Provide a few decors for refuge.

I always have a 29g running with a few growout fish just to keep it ready. I will be doing the same with a 55g also. A 40g would be a ggod size tank to keep as a QT/hospital tank.

Cool I will eventually grab that breeder 40g anyway just for breeder needs also. I have my 5'' pike in the 10g because of HOTH. But I like my chances with a smaller tank like this one 10g. He's got one big crater on his face and a smaller one on the other side. I fell bad and I am mad at the store I bought him from. I still respect the store and owner but I have been hearing some story's about that place but none the less. I am really needing and wanting to save him and cure him. So I was wondering what a good size QT would typically be.

Thanks for all the feed back. I appreciate all the input!

A 40g breeder is a great size. It also depends on what size fish may eventually have to go in there? An aro of considerable size might need something bigger?
