How many fish should you keep in a quarantine tank? im thinking about getting a 20 gal for my QT.

it depends what kind of fish... and how big they are.. and whether they can be qarenteened together for the same thing.. new fish... sick fish... medicine..no medicine.. every situation is different.

sometimes i put healthy fish in quarenteen to make sure they are healthy.. straight from LFS you never want to mix with others until your sure they are okay...also sometimes i use my quarenteen tank just to isolate one ... such as waiting for mom to spit the babies ... or angel eggs on a leaf that i take out of regular tank until fry have hatched.. A Quarenteen tank comes in handy thats for sure.:D.

quarantine tanks are the best way to make sure your display tanks don't get hard to get rid of parasites like camallanus. you treat fish with medicated food for a month, and check for any symptoms

hmm its a tank to introduce my new fish to the main tank. its a sw tank. and the fish will never be bigger then an inch or two. i want to start my fish off small so i can see them grow. i will also be putting coral and anemone in here before i put it in my display tank.

so just one fish at a time? or can i have 2 or 3?

if you buy them together or near the same time you can do them all.. what it does though is increase the risk of bringing in disease..for instance if you buy a healthy one ...put it in quarenteen.. u add another a few days later.. the 2nd one may give the first one something.. but if you buy them together they would both already be exposed to the same thing.. you leave them in there for a few weeks make sure they are healthy and then add them to the mother tank..so my answer is yes and no.. also when you set up quarenteen tank i always use 50% of water from the big tank..so they adjust to the same basic water.. hope that helps

Up to 10 if your looking for a number. With good filtration of course.
