There is a LFS near me that has a great selection of cichlids, but most seem to have HITH when I see them up close when I get home w/ them. So now I am thinking to treat every fish I get before I mix w/ others. Other than keeping water parameters perfect what would you do?

Epsom salt in the food, and the tank. Frequent water changes, substrate vacuuming

I would find a better LFS. -Or a breeder that can sell you an optimal version of whatever. I used to think I was "rescuing" fish from little death farms like PetSuppliesPlus. Really I was just enabling them to continue their reign of terror over reputable Lfs's and breeders. I did get a Carpintis labeled as a JD to for 3 bucks once but I also have lost a lot of money on 10 dollar electric blue mistakes not to mention plecos and other cats because I thought 4weeks was long enough to quarantine. Also tumors sometime take a minute to develop and when they do you have a tumor fish you're attached to-

I always treat new fish with parasite gaurd

tons of clean water , add some salt maybe feed them live earthworms to fatten them all up/bloodworms or good old fashioned NLS . Soak the NLS in 3 % Epsom salt solution and let it dry out before feeding for 10 days .

Thanks everyone! I usually buy fish from Rapps when I am buying many fish at one time. This LFS used to be good, but things have gone down hill.
