Quarantine - What is your protocol?

I never did this step correctly in the past - but since I plan on spending some good money on stock, I want to try to minimize my losses.
What are your quarantine protocols? Do you raise your QT temp, add salt, medicate no matter what? If you medicate, what is a good all purpose medication to use? Thanks in advance.

A 3 week quarantine period should be the minimum, I have kept some wild caught fish in quarantine as long as 3 months. Domestic breed stock from my local water I just observe and don't usually medicate unless there is problem. Wild caught specimens are always given a dose of general cure after a week unless otherwise necessary, I will treat the tank and soak the food in GC. I waite a week because I want the fish to settle in and make sure they are eating before hand. This is what I do I'm sure there are many variations.
