So I have purchased 4 bartlett's anthias(all female) and 4 Flame Wrasses(1 male, 3 females) and have them in 2 separate 29 gallon quarantine tanks. The anthias have been there about a week and the wrasses just went in today.

My concern is that 2 of the anthias don't seem to be doing well. They all were eating for a few days and swimming around as a group. Now one is hiding behind the powerhead and not eating and the other is still swimming and eating, but his tail fin is pretty beat up and getting worse.

My opinion is that they are jostling for dominance and 2 are ending up on the bad end of things. I really don't want to risk putting them into my display, but don't want them to die either.

What can/should I do to remedy this situation?

Also, to prevent any problems with the wrasses in a similar scenario?

Anyone have experience in this regard???

Update...

The one that wasn't eating is now dead. So 3 anthias left and 1 is definitely causing the problems and becoming the male.

Well, didn't get any responses but doesn't matter anyway because Bob Fenner said to put them all into my main tank and not QT.

I would have gone this route as well. Seems to me that they are most likely having some gender issues, and they are trying to sort that out.

Giving them some room and places to hide should make that process a little easier.
