Out Back In The Woods!
How does everyone go about their new fish when they recieve them via Vendor, LFS etc..???? I kno to leave them in the quaratine tank for at least 2 weeks which i have been doing but havent had to treat any for dieases(knock on wood) all look good.. Should i treat them new fish even if the look healthy for the sake of my other fish?? how do i go about this situation have 3 fish coming next week and wanna be fully prepared..

I would still quarentine any new fish bring introduced. All it takes is one sick fish to spread thru your tank. Just cause the fish appear to be healthy doesnt mean they are. I got a midevil 2 weeks ago. Didmt quarentine just put it in a 55 by it self since that was gunna be its home a week later found out it had internal parasites when I treated it , it was too late and the fish died a few days later.

I keep fish in quarantine for at least a month..if I see anything that might be wrong i treat them but not until I see it..witch is why i QT for so long, sometimes it takes a while for things to show up in fish.

you mean treat for illness??

even if they are showing no signs of illness

hell NO!

(well maybe some stress coat...ie dechlorinator) but still no

+1 some meds stress fish and kill bb which are ur best friends in the world.

The whole point of quarintine is to not use meds and do it naturally so you don't pollute ur display tank with w/e host the fish may or may not be carrying.
