Hi Guys,
I am going to buy an Eheim (Pro 3 series) 2080 filter. Has anyone used this filter before.
Thanks
Shiv.

Use the search function here on MFK. There is tons of information about them, as well as many reviews. Also, an actual question would help.

Hi WyldFya,
Thanks for the information. Actually I am in two minds, whether or not to buy a filter as expensive as eheim 2080. I dont want to compromise on the quality and safety hence have zeroed in on eheim. I have already have eheim ecco 2235 running on my 60 gallon tank. As the filtration in highly insufficient I have decided to get on more canister for my tank.

The Pro 3e series is probably the best Eheim Canister filter to date. But the cost is what puts so many people off, thus they buy a larger and cheaper FX5. But the performance and capabilities of a 2080 is second to none.

Howdy,

I used to run the 2080 on a 220 gal, and it could not keep up. It's hooked up to my 75 gal now, and filtration is okay. This filter is not suitable for anything bigger than 75 gal if you keep /\/\onsters. It will be sufficient for your 60 gal all by itself, but then, it's quite expensive. I'd rather go with the Classic Series: Better filters and perfect filtration

Hi Guys,

Thanks a lot for your replies. I have already placed an order for 2080 and should receive it in a day or two. The reason why I am going for 2080 inspite of the fact that the tank is small ( ~60/65 gal ) is because I want to upgrade to a 200 gallon tank in about an year or two. so I want to reduce my expenses then. So I am slowly accumulating all the things required for the new tank. When I upgrade to the 200 gallon tank I will also buy XP5 or another similar filter.
