I got a 55 gallon aquarium. It has a hole in the center of the back about 4 inches from the top for a 1.5 inch bulkhead. I was thinking about bushing the bulkhead to 3/4 and plumbing a canister filter to it. Should I just put a bulkhead screen on it or get an elbow and some pvc pipe and make an intake tube that connects to the bulkhead and sucks off the bottom? I have a gl*******s overflow box I'm putting on for a sump to filter from the top of the water already. I actually checked and the hole is a little too high to use for the overflow box, so I'm going to have to do something else with it. Thanks.

i dont really have a input or a comment as to what your asking but what i did
on one of my tanks i had when i had a extra bulkhead was pipe it for a drain
to use for water changes. i used pvc pipe and ball valves on it and connected
one of those pool hoses to it so when i had to water change i would just take
the hose out and put in the sink to drain the water to my liking then put it back
under the stand when im done and fill the tank back up with another hose i have
connected to a faucet. its ghetto but it works and beats the hell out of lame
water changes with a python or buckets not to mention its a lot faster and less
time consuming.
