Question about 10-12" Ornate

Someone locally is selling an 10-12" Ornate for $50. I have two questions:

Is this a good deal?
Will it eat my 5" African Tiger Fish in my 125 gallon?

That price is pretty good. Ornates are the most aggressive species of bichirs IMO and it might try to snap at the tiger fish.

My 8" ornate is not aggressive at all, but my 16" ones are. It just depends on the fish, but in this case, I think your Tiger Fish would outgrow the ornate at a pretty fast rate. I think you would be ok, just observe them carefully for a while...

ATFs have fairly slow growth rate.

try another specis of bchir. Other upper jaw species like seegals and dehezis.
